Beatriz acts for a range of stakeholders in distress transactions and has advised clients involved in some of the most prominent and noteworthy restructurings in Brazil in deals spanning some of Brazil's most important sectors, including power, infrastructure, oil and gas and sugar and ethanol. She also has experience across a broad range of debt financing products, advising both borrowers and lenders on bank lending, leveraged finance transactions, project finance, and structured debt. She also advises on cross-border equity investments, acquisitions and related financings.


Prior to founding Padis Mattar Advogados, Beatriz worked at Stocche Forbes Advogados and was an international associate at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton, in New York.





Embraport, Dubai Ports and Odebrecht Transport on the project finance of Brazil’s largest private port, distress acquisition, out-of-court restructuring proceeding and negotiation of the company’s largest take-or-pay agreement;


Ocyan (formerly Odebrecht Oil & Gas) on Brazil’s largest ever extrajudicial restructuring of project bonds and general corporate debt of approximately US$5 billion; 


Zaff, LLP as financial sponsor and resulting controlling shareholder of Itafos (formerly MBAC Fertilizer Corp.) in connection with the concurrent restructuring of Itafos under the CCAA in Canada and parallel proceedings in Brazil resulting in a reduction of approximately US$307M of debt;  


International investors in the BRL1 billion debenture issuance of Atvos Agroindustrial Participações S.A.;


Castlelake, LP in the restructuring of BRL3.9 billion debt of Queiroz Galvão Energia S.A.
